Oswago Harbour

OSWAGO HARBOUR;
Oswago harbour was a very important harbour in schooner days as it connected lake Ontario with the Erie barge canal and the Hudson river via the Oswago canal.

In schooner  days, the harbour was not as friendly to come into as it is today with many a ship wrecks caused while trying to make the harbour. The wrecks would be found at the harbour entrance but also as far away as Kingston to the east and 50 mile point to the west.
